What is the perfect mattress for you?

The bed choice is the easiest as most people have in their mind what they expect from their bed. There’s nothing quite like retiring to a comfortable bed after a long day, however, choosing the right mattress is the most crucial part. Which is why Rise & Recline and Active Mobility recommend a FREE bed design consultation - so you can be assured of getting it right.

There are 3 mattress options:

Orthopaedic Comfort Reflex

Made from high quality foam and finished in a superior quality COOLMAX® two way stretching fabric, the Reflex 8” mattress has an outstanding look and feel. The foam is available in various densities for different user weights and ensures a comfortable and relaxing sleep.

Coolmax® quilted zip off purpose made mattress cover with 5 years warranty.

Protects your bedding, whilst keeping you cool. The Coolmax® layer draws away heat from the body. It’s filled with polyester to absorb excess moisture meaning you can rest easy.

Reflex - high-density responsive foam

Reflex foam is a technical polyurethane foam, of medium-firm high density. It provides a vital supportive firmness at the mattress base, relevant to your weight, and is often used for orthopaedic mattresses. It is used by leading brands and shares the same ‘spring back into shape’ characteristic of memory foam (hence ‘reflex’).

Benefits of a reflex foam mattress:

  • Promotes excellent spinal alignment
  • Enhances firmness and minimises settlement
  • Offers healthy weight distribution
  • No need to turn
  • Naturally hypoallergenic
  • Dust mite resistant
  • Firm orthopaedic feel

Reflex foam is made up of tiny holes that slightly adapt to your body shape but bounce back against you at the same time. Often found in orthopaedic mattresses, reflex foam can offer a firmer feel and provide good spinal alignment.

Reflex foam is very flexible and regains its original shape very quickly, hence the name 'reflex'. This type of foam is very versatile and can take various formations within a mattress.

Triple Comfort Reflexion Memory Foam

The 8” memory foam mattress combines both Reflex foam and memory foam, so providing pressure relief and enabling the correct posture to be maintained during sleep. Finished in a superior quality COOLMAX® two way stretch fabric, the memory foam mattress cradles the body for the ultimate in comfort and relaxation.

Coolmax® for optimal temperature regulation whilst you sleep.

If you want a hard-working protector that keeps you cool and fresh our Coolmax® protector does exactly that. The patented Coolmax® fibres are there to alleviate heat and reduce body temperature making these protectors ideal for hot sleepers and warm weather. The fibres allow the fabric to absorb and disperse moisture very quickly, so it evaporates faster than other synthetic fabrics keeping you cooler and fresher. The Coolmax® fabric is quilted with a fill of microfibre which adds a distinct layer of softness adding comfort to your mattress or pillow. The bottom layer is a waterproof barrier to protect your mattress from spills and stains - it is unquilted to ensure that liquids remain on this surface.

Reflex foam is a technical polyurethane foam, of medium-firm high density. It provides a vital supportive firmness at the mattress base, relevant to your weight, and is often used for orthopaedic mattresses.

Benefits of a reflex foam mattress:

Vasco 60 - The ultimate support and protection system

Vasco continues to be the UK's leading and established memory foam brand. Vasco foam is lower density foam designed for anything from mattress toppers to durable medical mattresses.

The pressure map below shows a human body lying on a Vasco mattress. The cooler the colour, the more favourable the pressure to the human body. Far less pressure is exerted on concentrated areas of the body, whilst any pressure that is present is spread far more evenly across the surface and over the sleeper’s body.

The airflow through the foam is far superior and promotes a cooler night’s sleep. Often described as a “memory” foam, Vasco is slower to recover from compression than traditional polyurethane foam products. Since it is energy absorbing and temperature sensitive it readily responds to heat, moulding itself perfectly around the source of compression. No matter what the weight, Vasco spreads it evenly by increasing the surface area so that when equilibrium is achieved, pressure is reduced to an absolute minimum.

Optimum pressure distribution is achieved when Vasco is used in conjunction with an optimum resilience Reflex grade.

Latex Mattresses

 Why a latex mattress?

  • Latex mattresses are one of the most eco-friendly mattress fillings  available. This is due to the rubber trees that are used to collect latex, converting ‘over 90 million tons of carbon dioxide into oxygen’ every year.
  • Because of its natural softness a latex mattress conforms to the body for full support and pressure relief. The mattress keeps cool which minimises the chances of heat building up and disturbing your sleep.
  • The Latex mattresses have amazing air circulation as they have a natural open-cell structure, this allows for good air flow which helps you to stay cooler in bed.
  • These mattresses have a natural resistance to mould and dust mites.
  • Soft and breathable, the mattress covers are easy to care for.

Coolmax® for optimal temperature regulation whilst you sleep.

To compliment the Latex mattress, its wrapped in our breathable Coolmax® comfort cover which is made with eco-friendly materials, such as organic cotton for minimal environmental impact.  Thanks to its moisture management properties, the Coolmax® cotton fabric is especially developed for bed linen, its high surface area maximises vapour transport with high void hollow filling fibres for excellent air circulation which keeps you cool, dry and comfortable all night long.

Cons to a latex mattress

Cons to a latex mattress would simply be that they are heavier than many other types of mattresses however, with a low maintenance zero turn requirement you can have peace of mind that when the mattress is fitted it is on for life.
