The Drive DeVilbiss Jaunt Plus answers both. It has suspension front and rear and larger 20Ah batteries, yet still splits into five pieces for the car with no tools.

It carries riders up to 21 stone, which is more than many portable scooters, and the wide 46 cm seat swivels so you can get on and off easily. Ground clearance is low at 4 cm, so high kerbs and rough tracks are best avoided. If lifting is the main concern, a lighter folding scooter or a boot hoist is worth considering.

Questions customers ask us

What's the difference between the Jaunt and the Jaunt Plus?
The Plus adds front and rear suspension and bigger 20Ah batteries for more range.
