How much does a Stannah stairlift cost?

Curved stairlifts do cost more than straight stairlifts, as these are more complex to engineer and install.

Stannah has put together the below guide for their stairlifts.

Buying a stairlift can be life-changing, allowing you the freedom to move around your own home and to keep on doing the things that make you “you”. It’s an important purchase, so it’s natural that one of the most frequent questions we’re asked is “How much will it cost?”.

The price of a stairlift is influenced by lots of factors and can differ from home to home. To help you get an idea of the factors that can affect the cost, we’ve outlined many of the factors below. Alternatively, you can book a free consultation or get an online quote by clicking the buttons below.

Factors that affect stairlift costs

For many, having a stairlift installed is a more desirable alternative to some of the more expensive options – such as remodelling your home or even moving to a new house. When choosing a stairlift for yourself or a loved one, there are many questions to ask and factors to consider, not least how much it will cost and what makes the price of a stairlift vary.

When it comes specifically to stairlift prices, it’s important to remember that not all stairlifts are the same. Prices depend on several factors, such as:

  • Whether your stairs require a straight or curved rail
  • Whether we need to trim a windowsill, move a radiator, or make any other minor adjustments
  • Whether you’ll want or need to opt for additional functions and features

Straight or curved staircases

The layout of your staircase will be the deciding factor in which kind of stairlift rail is suitable for your home, and therefore what sort of price bracket you can expect. Stannah curved stairlifts for stairs that have turns or landings are made to match the exact contours of your staircase, requiring specialist craftsmanship and technical expertise.

Stairlifts for straight stairs generally cost less but are still made to measure and, exactly like our curved stairlifts, can be customised to suit your taste and needs.

Optional extras and additional benefits

Our range of optional extras can help to make your chair your own and cater to each individual circumstances

Power swivel feature:

As an alternative to manual swivel seats, our range of stairlifts are available with a power swivel seat option. This option allows the user to pivot the seat using ergonomically designed controls on the arm of the chair in order to more easily disembark from the stairlift.

Alternative seatbelts:

In addition to our standard lap belts, Stannah offer a variety of seatbelts to cater to different needs. Their easy-to-fasten seatbelts have been specifically designed for a stairlift and can be easily secured with one hand for those with limited dexterity. Our five-point seatbelt provides extra support between the user’s legs and over their shoulders.

Upholstery choices:

Stannah stairlifts are available with a range of upholstery options to complete your stairlift, with customisable colours, fabric and finishes.

Chair types:

Although it is important for your stairlift chair to be comfortable, it’s just as important to select a seat that caters to your individual needs. There are a range of different stairlift chairs available to choose from, each with its own practical features to suit every scenario – from tilted, saddle-style seats, to smart space-savers, to the ultimate ergonomic support.

Some of the additional functions and features may contribute towards the overall cost of a stairlift.
