What is a Personal Wheelchair Budget?
Since December 2019, everyone who accesses NHS wheelchair services in England has a legal right to a Personal Wheelchair Budget (PWB). It’s designed to help you get the wheelchair that’s right for your health, lifestyle and preferences.
You can use a PWB to:
- Access a suitable wheelchair through the NHS, or
- Contribute towards a wheelchair in the private sector with support from a BHTA-accredited provider like Active Mobility.
