Comfortable, easy-going powered mobility for home and out and about
If getting around has started to wear you out, a dependable electric wheelchair can help. The Ottobock Wingus is an entry-level rear-wheel drive electric wheelchair, also known as a powerchair, designed to be comfortable, simple to use and easy to live with.
Its cantilever frame is designed for a comfortable ride on pavements and garden paths. At 58.5 cm wide it's compact for getting round the home, and flip-up armrests and a table-friendly control make meals, hobbies and transfers easier.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Cantilever frame for a softer ride
The frame is designed to absorb bumps, so fewer jolts reach your back and neck — kinder if you live with back pain or stiff joints.Flip-up armrests
Lift the armrests out of the way to slide across to a bed, chair or car seat, or to get closer to the table.Puncture-proof tyres
No flat tyres to deal with when you're out, and nothing to pump up.Up to 25 km (15.5 miles) range
Enough for the shops, a visit and back without watching the battery.Adjustable seat depth and backrest angle
Set the seat to the length of your legs and choose a backrest angle of 0°, 10° or 20°, so you sit comfortably for longer.Optional swing-away control holder
Moves the joystick aside so you can pull right up to a table, desk or worktop.Crash tested to ISO 7176-19
Can be used as a seat in a suitable vehicle when secured correctly.
Who it suits best
- First-time powerchair users wanting a simple, comfortable chair
- Everyday use indoors and on local pavements
- Users up to 120 kg (18.9 stone)
Worth knowing before you buy
The Wingus is an entry-level chair, so it has standard seating rather than powered tilt or complex postural support. It weighs 57 kg and doesn't fold for a car boot. It's rated for slopes up to 7° and obstacles up to 50 mm, so it isn't meant for rough ground. If you need powered positioning or a higher weight limit, a modular electric wheelchair would be a better fit.
