Strong, confident power for your wheelchair — even if your hands don't grip well
Many power add-ons expect you to squeeze levers and twist a throttle, which is hard work if you have limited hand function from a spinal injury, MS, arthritis or a stroke. The Klaxon Klick Race Tetra pairs Klaxon's most powerful Klick with the Tetra cockpit: you simply press the handlebar forward to go and ease off to slow down.
It clicks onto the front of your manual wheelchair, so you keep the chair that fits you, while the Klick handles hills, distance and rough pavements for you.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Tetra cockpit — press to go
You accelerate by pushing on the handlebar rather than gripping a lever, so you can drive with your palms or wrists if your fingers are weak or stiff.Automatic braking when you let go
Release the handlebar and the electronic brake slows you down, giving reassurance if your reactions or grip are less reliable.1500 W gearless motor, 50 Nm torque
Plenty of power for steep streets and long climbs, saving your shoulders and arms.Hill Holder Control available
The optional hill-hold works with the Tetra cockpit to keep you still on a slope, so you don't roll back while you get ready to move off.Intelligent cruise control
Holds a steady speed up and downhill, so you don't need to keep constant pressure for long stretches.Up to 60 km (37 miles) range
Depending on battery (Klaxon quote 60, 30 or 15 km) — enough for a long day out.Reverse gear and 14" all-road wheel
Reverse out of tight spots easily, and roll over cobbles, kerbs and gravel with a wide, grippy tyre.Tetra linking system
A dedicated linking system designed to make attaching and releasing the Klick manageable with limited hand function.
Who it suits best
- Manual wheelchair users with limited grip or hand function
- People with tetraplegia or reduced motor skills who want to drive themselves
- Active users who want maximum power for hills and distance
Worth knowing before you buy
This is the top-of-the-range Klick, so if your hands work well and you only need help on local trips, a standard Klick Electric or Race will do the job for less. You still need enough arm and upper-body control to steer with handlebars — if that's difficult, an electric wheelchair with a joystick, or a rear-mounted power-assist unit, may be safer. We'll check your wheelchair is compatible and set the speed within UK rules.
Questions customers ask us
How is the Tetra different from the standard Race?
The motor and wheel are the same. The Tetra version swaps the hand levers for a handlebar you press to accelerate and release to brake, and has its own linking system.
Can I try one first?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so give us a call first and we'll check — if it isn't in, we can usually arrange a demo model. You can also book a free home assessment.

More questions about power add-ons
What is a power add-on?
It's a motor that fits to your manual wheelchair to give you power when you want it. Options include push-assist wheels, rear drive units and front attachments that turn your chair into a power trike.
Will it fit my wheelchair?
Most fit a wide range of manual wheelchairs, but it depends on your frame. Tell us the make and model of your chair on 01789 339 738 and we'll check, or book a free home assessment.
Power add-on or electric wheelchair: which is better?
A power add-on lets you keep the chair you know and is lighter to take in the car. If you can't push yourself at all or need powered support all day, an electric wheelchair is usually the better choice.
How far will it go on a charge?
Range varies from model to model and depends on hills, your weight and the ground, so check the figure on each product page and ask us about your usual routes.
Can I get VAT relief?
If you have a long-term illness or disability and it's for your own personal use, you may be able to buy qualifying products without paying VAT. Just ask us and we'll help you with the simple declaration.
