Specifications
Powered seating that moves with you, on a chair that still fits your home
When you spend most of your day in your wheelchair, being able to change position easily matters as much as getting from A to B. The Invacare AVIVA RX40 Ultra pairs the compact AVIVA RX40 base with Ultra Low Maxx powered seating, so you can recline, raise your legs and shift your weight at the touch of a control — without waiting for someone to help.
It's a capable electric wheelchair (also known as a powerchair) indoors and out, with CTC suspension, speeds up to 8 mph and smart LiNX controls that help it drive straight on sloping pavements.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Ultra Low Maxx powered seating
Change your position yourself through the day to ease pressure on your bottom and back, rest when you're tired, and stay comfortable for longer — especially important if you sit for many hours.Powered recline with elevating legrests
The legrests extend and lift as you recline, which helps reduce the dragging on your skin that can happen when you lean back, and lets you put your feet up properly.Low seat position
Sit at table height, get closer to worktops and be at eye level with family and friends.LiNX G-Trac gyro technology
Keeps the chair on line on cambered pavements and slopes, so you don't have to keep correcting the joystick — a big help if your hand control is limited or tires easily.3.5" touchscreen with built-in Bluetooth
A clear display that's easy to read, and Bluetooth to connect to your phone or other devices.CTC suspension
Absorbs bumps and vibration on rough paths, so the ride is kinder to your back and neck.Speeds up to 8 mph and range up to 37 km (23 miles)
Enough pace and distance for full days out, not just short trips.Climbs obstacles up to 75 mm
Up to 100 mm with a kerb climber fitted, so thresholds and small kerbs are less of a barrier.
Colours available
Black, Silver, Bengal Red, Mercury Blue and Midnight Purple.
Who it suits best
- You spend most of the day in your chair and need to change position often
- You need powered recline and leg elevation for comfort or pressure care
- You want a chair that works indoors and outdoors
Worth knowing before you buy
This is a specialist electric wheelchair with powered seating, so it's heavy — up to 190.1 kg depending on how it's configured — and it doesn't fold or come apart for a car boot. It should be set up after a proper seating assessment. If you mainly need a simple chair for short trips, or something to take in the car, a standard or folding electric wheelchair will be easier to live with and cost much less.
Questions customers ask us
Is it front or rear-wheel drive?
The AVIVA RX40 is rear-wheel drive, which gives steady, predictable driving outdoors.
Do I need an assessment?
Yes, we strongly recommend one so the seating, controls and powered functions are set up for your body and needs. We can arrange an assessment and demonstration.
