Specifications
Slim enough for your home, steady enough for the world outside
Narrow doorways, a tight hallway or a small bathroom can make a full-size electric wheelchair feel like a squeeze. The Invacare TDX SP2 NB (the NB stands for narrow base) is just 610 mm wide, so it slips through gaps and turns neatly in the rooms you use every day.
It's a mid-wheel drive electric wheelchair (also known as a powerchair), so it pivots around you rather than swinging wide, and its SureStep suspension and Stability Lock keep all six wheels planted for a calm, secure ride. Modulite seating is set up to fit you, so you're comfortable from morning to night.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Narrow 610 mm base
Gets through tighter doorways and round furniture, so you can use your whole home without moving things around or asking for help.Mid-wheel drive for tight turning
The drive wheels sit under the seat, so the chair turns in a small space — ideal in kitchens, bathrooms and busy shops.SureStep suspension with Stability Lock
Keeps all six wheels on the ground over thresholds, kerbs and uneven paving, so you feel steady and secure.Modulite seating set up for you
Seat widths from 330 to 530 mm, with depth and back adjusted to your body — good for posture and comfort if you sit for long periods.REM400 touchscreen control
A clear colour touchscreen that's quick to learn and easy on weaker hands.Built-in Bluetooth
Connect to your phone or other devices from your chair.Crash tested
Can be used as a seat in a suitably adapted vehicle.Carries users up to 150 kg (23.5 st)
A generous capacity for such a slim chair.
Who it suits best
- Homes with narrow doors, hallways or small rooms
- You spend most of your day indoors and on local pavements
- You want a stable, secure ride over thresholds and kerbs
- Users up to 150 kg (23.5 stone)
Worth knowing before you buy
The NB is set up with a 4 mph (6 km/h) top speed and a range of around 26 km (16 miles), so it's best for home and local trips rather than long days out. It weighs 138 kg with batteries and doesn't fold. If you need a higher weight limit, more range or speed, the standard TDX SP2 is the bigger option; for rough ground, look at a rear-wheel drive all-terrain chair.
Questions customers ask us
Will it fit through my doors?
At 610 mm wide it fits through many narrower doorways — we're happy to measure up with you.
What's the difference between the NB and the standard TDX SP2?
The NB has a narrower base for tight homes; the standard TDX SP2 carries more weight and has bigger batteries for longer range.
