The Rascal Vortex is a sporty Class 3 road scooter, which means you can travel at up to 8 mph on the road and 4 mph on the pavement, and it carries riders up to 28 stone (180 kg).

Worth knowing before you buy

The Vortex is a large scooter: 146 cm long and about 146 kg with its standard batteries, so it won't go in a car, and it needs around 4 metres to turn in a full circle — it's not the one for small shops or tight hallways. If you need something to travel with you or to use mostly indoors and in town, a folding, boot or compact pavement scooter will be much easier. As a Class 3 scooter it needs registering with the DVLA, which is free.

Can I use it on the pavement?
Yes. Switch to 4 mph for pavements and use up to 8 mph on the road.

Can I add a canopy?
Yes, a solid canopy, with or without sides, is available as an optional extra to keep the weather off.
