Most mobility scooters are happiest on smooth pavements. If you miss country walks, beach paths, the allotment or getting round the farm, that can feel very limiting. The ScooterPac Invader is built for rough ground, with drive to the front and rear wheels, big chunky tyres and plenty of clearance underneath.

It's a Class 3 scooter, so you can also use it on the road at up to 8 mph to get from home to the start of a track. No driving licence is needed.

  Power goes to the front and rear wheels, so you keep grip on mud, gravel, wet grass and sand where a standard scooter would spin.

  Upgrade to a seat with lumbar support for long days out, or add a towbar to pull a small trailer around a garden, smallholding or farm.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Invader is a very large scooter, about 2 metres long and 84.5 cm wide. It won't fit through many doorways, shop aisles or onto public transport, and it can't be taken in a car. If most of your trips are into town or around the shops, a standard road scooter will be easier to live with. The longest range figures are with the optional lithium batteries rather than the standard ones.

Questions customers ask us

Can I use it on the road?
Yes. As a Class 3 scooter it can be used on the road at up to 8 mph and on pavements at up to 4 mph. It needs free DVLA registration, but no driving licence.

How far will it go?
Up to 30–40 miles with the optional lithium battery set-up.
