It's a Class 3 road scooter, which means up to 8 mph on the road and 4 mph on the pavement at the flick of a switch.

It's Invacare's most popular 8 mph scooter, and it carries riders up to 25 stone (160 kg). Larger 12-inch air tyres, upgraded suspension and clever safety electronics give you a calm, steady ride, with up to 32 miles on a charge.

Worth knowing before you buy

At 136 kg with batteries and 132 cm long, the Orion Pro is a full-size scooter that won't go in a car, and it needs around 2.75 metres to turn, so it's not the best choice for tight shops or narrow paths. If you want something easier to manoeuvre and store, a compact road scooter or a pavement scooter may suit you better. It must be registered with the DVLA as a Class 3 vehicle, which is free.
