Plenty of people want the speed and range of a road scooter but worry about something huge and hard to store. The Rascal Vecta Sport is the happy middle ground. It is a road-legal Class 3 scooter, meaning it can travel at up to 8 mph on the road as well as 4 mph on the pavement, yet it is just 132 cm long and 60 cm wide.

That makes it easier to park, manoeuvre round shops and keep in a garage or shed. With full suspension, a powerful motor and around 27 miles from a charge, trips into town or out to the next village feel easy again.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Vecta Sport weighs 113 kg with its batteries, and the heaviest part is 95 kg, so it is not a scooter for a car boot. If you need to take one in the car, look at a folding or boot scooter instead. As a Class 3 scooter it must be registered with the DVLA (free of charge). It is happiest on slopes of up to 10°, so if you live at the top of a very steep hill, ask us about larger, more powerful models.

Questions customers ask us

Do I need a licence or insurance?
You don't need a driving licence, but Class 3 scooters must be registered with the DVLA, which is free. Insurance isn't compulsory, though we recommend it.

How far will it really go?
Up to 27 miles for a 90 kg rider and around 22 miles at the maximum user weight. Hills, cold weather and stop-start trips will reduce this.

Can I test drive one?
Yes. We don't keep every scooter in stock, so call us first and we'll check one is in the showroom. If not, we can usually arrange a demo model or a home demonstration.
