Many people want the freedom to use the road but don't have room for a large scooter. The Sterling S410 HP is the most compact model in Sterling's S-Series, yet it's road legal at up to 6 mph and carries riders up to 25 stone (160 kg).

Its 120-amp controller gives it more pulling power on slopes and longer trips. Air-filled 10" tyres and adjustable suspension all round keep things comfortable, and the swivelling captain's seat makes getting on and off much easier.

Worth knowing before you buy

The S410 HP is built for town use rather than long distances, so if you regularly travel well beyond 20 miles or want 8 mph on faster roads, a larger 8 mph scooter will suit you better. It comes apart into sections, but the batteries weigh about 18 kg each and the seat about 35 kg, so it isn't a practical car-boot scooter for most people.

Can I ride it on the road?
Yes. It's a Class 3 scooter, so you can use the road at up to 6 mph. It needs free DVLA registration, and no licence is needed.

Can I sit on it before I buy?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so give us a call first and we'll check it's in the showroom — and if it isn't, we can usually arrange a demo model for you. You can also book a free home assessment.
