Everyday freedom in a powerchair that still folds for the car

Pushing a manual wheelchair, or being pushed, can make every trip feel like hard work. The Drive DeVilbiss Easy-Fold gives you your own joystick control, so you decide where you go and when — round the shops, along the seafront or to a friend's for coffee.

It goes up to 12 miles on a charge, which is plenty for a full day out. When it's time to head home, the batteries, footrests and cushion come off and the frame folds down to a compact 73 × 36 × 77 cm for the car boot.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

• Up to 12 miles (20 km) on a charge

• Folds small for transport
Folded it measures just 73 × 36 × 77 cm, so it suits most car boots and tucks away at home.

• Removable batteries, footrests and cushion
Take the heavier parts off and the frame weighs around 36 kg, making loading easier for whoever is helping you.

• Off-board charging
Charge the batteries indoors while the chair stays in the car or shed.

• Joystick with speed and battery gauges
Easy one-handed driving, a clear battery display and a built-in horn to let people know you're there.

• Flip-up armrests and swing-away footrests
Clear the way for sideways transfers to a bed, car seat or armchair, which feels steadier if your balance isn't what it was.

• Wide 46 cm padded seat
A roomy, cushioned seat that's comfortable for longer outings.

• USB port and seat belt
Keep your phone charged while you're out, with a belt for extra security.

Who it suits best

• You have someone to help load it, or a car boot hoist
• Users up to 21.4 stone (136 kg)

Worth knowing before you buy

The Easy-Fold weighs about 57 kg complete, with the two batteries alone around 21.5 kg, so it isn't a chair most people can lift on their own even when folded. It's rated for slopes up to 8° and has about 7 cm of ground clearance, so it's best on pavements and firm paths. If you need something very light to lift yourself, a carbon fibre folding powerchair is a better fit — we can help you compare.

Questions customers ask us

How tight a space can it turn in?
It turns in about 130 cm, so it manages most shops and wider hallways.

Can it be pushed if the battery runs out?
Yes. There's a freewheel setting so a companion can push it.

Can I try it first?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so give us a call first and we'll check — if it isn't in the showroom, we can usually arrange a demo model. You can also book a free home assessment.
