Children change size quickly, and family life usually means a chair that has to fold into the car. The ZIPPIE Youngster 3 is a lightweight folding wheelchair for active children, with growth built into the frame so it fits for longer without constant new parts.

From around 8.5 kg, it's easy for a child to push and for parents to lift. It's steady at the front, the brake is built into the side guard so your child doesn't need to lean forward to use it, and it's crash tested for use as a seat in an adapted vehicle.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Youngster 3 takes children up to 85 kg (13 st 5 lb). As a folding chair it flexes a little more than a rigid one, so a very active child who rarely needs to fold the chair may prefer a rigid children's wheelchair. Children needing tilt or more postural support may need a different style of chair. We'll measure your child, ideally with their therapist, and it's built to order.

Questions customers ask us

How does it grow with my child?
Seat width grows by 2 cm through the cross-brace and seat depth by 4 cm through the seat tubes, without new parts. More growth is possible with new parts.
