Specifications
A small wedge for a small lip, with a tiny footprint
Sometimes the problem is just a 4 cm lip — a patio door runner, a step up into a kitchen extension, or the edge of a balcony door. It is low enough to ignore on foot but big enough to stop rollator wheels dead or jolt a wheelchair. The Enable Access Doorline Threshold Wedge in the 4 cm size fixes that with a short, neat ramp only 20 cm deep.
Because it is so compact, it fits where longer ramps won't, such as a narrow path or a small balcony. It weighs just 1.7 kg and is made to stay put, so you can set it down and leave it.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Only 20 cm deep
Takes up hardly any floor space, so it won't get in the way of a door swing, a doormat or a tight corridor.Smooths a 4 cm lip
Stops rollator wheels catching and spares wheelchair users that jolt through the frame.Feather-light at 1.7 kg
Easy for anyone to pick up, clean under or move to another door.Leave it in place
Designed to stay where it is, so access is always ready with no setting up.Rated to 350 kg (55 st)
Small, but strong enough for powered wheelchairs and scooters.Grip in all weathers
Safe on a balcony or patio door that gets the rain. Can be fully sanitised
Washable with pressure and heat, handy for bathrooms, care homes and clinics.
Who it suits best
- Patio, balcony or sliding doors with a low runner
- Internal steps up into an extension or utility room
- Rollator and walking frame users who keep catching a lip
- Tight spaces where a longer ramp won't fit
Worth knowing before you buy
It is designed for a 4 cm rise. If your lip is a little higher, the 5 cm wedge will sit better, and if the height varies from one side of the door to the other, an adjustable wedge may be the neater answer. For a uPVC sill that you need to protect, a hook-on threshold ramp is worth considering.
Questions customers ask us
Is it worth it for such a small step?
Often yes. Small lips are a common cause of trips and of rollator wheels sticking, and a short wedge takes the jolt out completely.

More questions about ramps
How long a ramp do I need?
The longer the ramp, the gentler the slope. Measure the height of the step and call us on 01789 339 738, and we'll help you work out the right length for a wheelchair, scooter or helper.
Portable or threshold ramp?
A threshold ramp sits at a doorway to smooth out a small lip. A portable ramp folds or comes apart so you can take it with you for steps and vehicles.
How much weight will a ramp take?
Check the safe working load on the product page. It needs to cover the combined weight of the person, the wheelchair or scooter and anyone helping.
Can I use a ramp to load my car?
Some ramps are designed for vehicles. Check the product page, and tell us your vehicle so we can suggest the right one.
Can I get VAT relief?
If you have a long-term illness or disability and it's for your own personal use, you may be able to buy qualifying products without paying VAT. Just ask us and we'll help you with the simple declaration.
