Worth knowing before you buy

A 40 cm wedge over a 7.5 cm step is a short, firm climb, which suits scooters and powered chairs well but can be hard work for a self-propelled wheelchair. You will need a level, firm base in front of the step — soft lawn is not ideal. If the step is closer to 10 cm, choose the next size up, and for steps that vary in height an adjustable wedge is worth a look.
