Specifications
A ramp set to the exact height of your door sill
Small sills of 2 to 3 cm are everywhere: between a hall and a kitchen, at a bathroom door, or on a patio door frame. They are rarely a neat standard size, so a fixed wedge either sits proud or leaves a little lip of its own. The Enable Access Doorline Variwedge Small adjusts in 5 mm steps, so you can match it to your threshold to within about the thickness of a coin.
It is only 15 cm deep and weighs 1.5 kg, so it slips into tight spaces indoors. A rubber strip underneath grips the floor and protects it, and you can leave it loose or fix it down.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Adjusts from 2 to 3 cm
Set it to your sill's real height so there's no little step at either end to catch a rollator wheel or a toe.Set up in under a minute
The spanner is included in the kit, so there's no need to call anyone out.Only 15 cm deep
Fits inside doorways and narrow hallways without becoming a trip hazard itself.Floor-friendly grip
A rubber strip on the underside holds it in place and protects wooden, laminate or tiled floors.Fixed or removable
Fix it for maximum stability, or keep it loose and move it to another doorway later.Indoors or out
Suitable for internal doors and outside thresholds alike.Rated to 275 kg (43 st)
Strong enough for manual and electric wheelchairs as well as walking frames.
Who it suits best
- Internal door sills between rooms
- Rollator and walking frame users who catch small lips
- Homes where several doors have slightly different sill heights
Worth knowing before you buy
This is the smallest Variwedge, made only for rises of 2 to 3 cm. If your sill is 3.5 cm or more, the Medium or Large size is the one to choose. Because it is adjustable it costs more than a simple fixed wedge, so if your threshold happens to match a standard height exactly, a fixed wedge may do the job.
Questions customers ask us
Do I need tools to set it?
Only the spanner that comes in the kit. Enable Access say it can be fully set in under a minute.
Can I move it to another room later?
Yes. Leave it loose and it can be re-adjusted and reused at another threshold.
Can I see it before buying?
We don't keep every size in stock, so please call first and we'll check. If it isn't in, we can usually arrange a demo model.

More questions about ramps
How long a ramp do I need?
The longer the ramp, the gentler the slope. Measure the height of the step and call us on 01789 339 738, and we'll help you work out the right length for a wheelchair, scooter or helper.
Portable or threshold ramp?
A threshold ramp sits at a doorway to smooth out a small lip. A portable ramp folds or comes apart so you can take it with you for steps and vehicles.
How much weight will a ramp take?
Check the safe working load on the product page. It needs to cover the combined weight of the person, the wheelchair or scooter and anyone helping.
Can I use a ramp to load my car?
Some ramps are designed for vehicles. Check the product page, and tell us your vehicle so we can suggest the right one.
Can I get VAT relief?
If you have a long-term illness or disability and it's for your own personal use, you may be able to buy qualifying products without paying VAT. Just ask us and we'll help you with the simple declaration.
