Specifications
A small ramp for a big step up: kerbs and doorsteps up to 10cm
Many front doors have a single step or a kerb-height lip that's just too much for a wheelchair or scooter to climb on its own. Bumping up it is uncomfortable, and getting stuck halfway is worse. The Enable Access Metro Kerb Threshold Ramp gives you a short, firm slope up to a rise of 10cm, so getting in and out of the house stops being a struggle.
It's 50cm long and weighs only 3kg, so it's easy to set down when you need it and lift away afterwards. Made in Britain from aluminium, it's part of Enable Access's good-value Metro range.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Handles a rise of up to 10cm
Covers a low doorstep, the lip of a back door or a kerb-height edge on a path, which are exactly the spots that tip scooters and jar wheelchair users.Just 3kg
Light enough to pick up with one hand, so a partner or carer can move it in and out without any heavy lifting.Rated to 270 kg (42 st)
Takes a wheelchair or mobility scooter with its rider, giving you a steady surface to roll over.Compact 50cm length
Short enough not to block a narrow path or porch, and easy to store in a hallway cupboard between uses.70cm wide
A generous width for most manual and electric wheelchairs, so you don't have to steer with pinpoint accuracy.Suits uPVC door thresholds
Enable Access list it for use at uPVC doors, so it works with the plastic door frames found on many homes.Made in Britain
Built in the UK by Enable Access, a specialist access ramp maker.
Who it suits best
- Homes with one shallow step at the front or back door
- Scooter users who need a little help up a doorstep
- Carers pushing a wheelchair up a kerb-height lip
Worth knowing before you buy
This is a short ramp, so the slope gets steeper as the step gets closer to 10cm. If you push yourself in a manual wheelchair, a longer folding ramp will be gentler. For a step higher than 10cm, look at a folding or adjustable ramp instead. If the gap is only a few centimetres, a bridge-type threshold ramp may be all you need.
Questions customers ask us
What's the difference between this and a bridge ramp?
The bridge ramps are made for low raised lips inside or between doors. This kerb-style ramp is for a single step up to 10cm, like a front doorstep.
How do I measure my step?
Measure straight up from the ground to the top of the step or sill. Give us the figure and we'll help you check it's the right ramp.

More questions about ramps
How long a ramp do I need?
The longer the ramp, the gentler the slope. Measure the height of the step and call us on 01789 339 738, and we'll help you work out the right length for a wheelchair, scooter or helper.
Portable or threshold ramp?
A threshold ramp sits at a doorway to smooth out a small lip. A portable ramp folds or comes apart so you can take it with you for steps and vehicles.
How much weight will a ramp take?
Check the safe working load on the product page. It needs to cover the combined weight of the person, the wheelchair or scooter and anyone helping.
Can I use a ramp to load my car?
Some ramps are designed for vehicles. Check the product page, and tell us your vehicle so we can suggest the right one.
Can I get VAT relief?
If you have a long-term illness or disability and it's for your own personal use, you may be able to buy qualifying products without paying VAT. Just ask us and we'll help you with the simple declaration.
Still got a question? Call us on 01789 339 738 and we'll be happy to help.
