Specifications
Your independence, in a chair light enough to lift yourself
If you like to get about under your own steam but struggle with a heavy wheelchair, the Karma Ergo Lite 2 Self-Propel could make a real difference. At around 10.7 kg it's an ultra-light folding chair, and with the 20" rear wheels and footrests taken off, Karma say the part you lift is about 6 kg.
Shaped handrims make pushing and slowing down easier on your hands, while Karma's S-Ergo seat helps you sit back comfortably without sliding. The breathable, anti-microbial upholstery comes off for washing, so the chair stays fresh for everyday use.

Who it suits best
- Independent users who want to self-propel and load their own chair
- People who travel by car or holiday regularly
- Anyone who finds a standard wheelchair too heavy
Worth knowing before you buy
The maximum user weight is 100 kg (15.7 st), so it isn't suitable for heavier users — a sturdier standard or heavy-duty wheelchair would be safer. Karma don't state that this model is crash tested, so if you need to travel seated in your wheelchair in a vehicle, choose a crash-tested chair instead.

More questions about everyday wheelchairs
What's the difference between a self-propelled and a transit wheelchair?
A self-propelled wheelchair has large back wheels with hand rims so you can push yourself. A transit (attendant) wheelchair has smaller wheels, is lighter and more compact, and is pushed by a helper.
What seat width do I need?
The seat should be a little wider than your hips so you're comfortable without sliding about. If you're unsure, call 01789 339 738 and we'll help you measure, or book a free home assessment.
How much does a wheelchair cost?
Everyday wheelchairs are among the most affordable mobility products, and every price is on the product page. If you have a long-term condition, you may be able to buy it VAT-free.
When should I look at an active wheelchair instead?
If you'll be in the chair most of the day and pushing yourself, a lighter active wheelchair set up to fit you will be far easier on your arms and shoulders.
