It's a transit chair, designed to be pushed by a companion, with an easy push-and-pull attendant brake and Karma's S-Ergo seat to help the person riding stay comfortable and sitting back. The frame and backrest both fold, making it a handy chair for shopping trips, holidays and hospital appointments.

Worth knowing before you buy
The Ergo Lite has a maximum user weight of 100 kg (15.7 st), lower than many wheelchairs, so it isn't suitable for heavier users. It can't be self-propelled by the person sitting in it. If the user needs to push themselves, look at the Ergo Lite 2 Self-Propel.

Can it be used in a wheelchair-accessible taxi?
Yes. It's crash tested to ISO 7176-19 for use as a seat in a suitably equipped vehicle.

What's the difference between a self-propelled and a transit wheelchair?
A self-propelled wheelchair has large back wheels with hand rims so you can push yourself. A transit (attendant) wheelchair has smaller wheels, is lighter and more compact, and is pushed by a helper.
Will it fold for the car?
Most of our everyday wheelchairs fold. Check the weight and folded size on the product page so you know it's manageable for whoever will be lifting it.
What seat width do I need?
The seat should be a little wider than your hips so you're comfortable without sliding about. If you're unsure, call 01789 339 738 and we'll help you measure, or book a free home assessment.
How much does a wheelchair cost?
Everyday wheelchairs are among the most affordable mobility products, and every price is on the product page. If you have a long-term condition, you may be able to buy it VAT-free.
When should I look at an active wheelchair instead?
If you'll be in the chair most of the day and pushing yourself, a lighter active wheelchair set up to fit you will be far easier on your arms and shoulders.
