The Karma i-Lite Transit is a straightforward, lightweight chair made for exactly that kind of occasional use.

It's designed to be pushed by a companion, with brakes on the handles so they're always in control. It folds quickly, the backrest folds down too, and the solid tyres never need pumping up — so it's ready whenever you are.

• Lightweight folding frame
  Around 9 kg, so a partner or grown-up child can lift it in and out of the car without a struggle, and it stores away neatly between outings.

• Attendant brakes on the push handles
  Whoever is pushing can slow down on a slope or hold the chair still at a kerb, which makes hills and ramps feel much safer for you both.

• Puncture-proof solid tyres
  No flat tyres halfway round a day out, and nothing to pump up when the chair has been sitting in the garage for a few weeks.

• Folding backrest
  The back folds down as well as the frame, making the chair smaller still for a car boot or a cupboard.

• Swing-away footrests
  Move them to the side so you can stand up or sit down with your feet flat on the floor, with less risk of catching your legs.

  We supply every Karma wheelchair with a seat belt, which isn't standard on this chair, so you feel secure when you're being pushed over bumps.

Worth knowing before you buy

The i-Lite is a basic chair intended for occasional use, and it comes in one seat width of 17 inches (43 cm). It isn't designed for sitting in all day, it can't be self-propelled, and it isn't crash tested for use as a seat in a vehicle. If you'll use a wheelchair every day, want to push yourself, or need more padding or posture support, a better-specified transit or self-propel chair will be more comfortable — we're happy to show you the difference.

Questions customers ask us

Can I push myself in it?
No, this is the transit (attendant-pushed) version with small rear wheels. If you'd like to wheel yourself, ask us about self-propel chairs.

Can I sit in it while travelling in a car or minibus?
No. It isn't crash tested, so you'll need to transfer to a vehicle seat. Fold the chair and put it in the boot instead.

Can I see it before I buy?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so call us first and we'll check — if it isn't in the showroom, we can usually arrange a demo model for you.
