An easy-to-push wheelchair for outings with the people you love

When a partner or parent can't walk far any more, family trips can start to feel like hard work. A good transit wheelchair changes that. The Karma Sparrow 2 Transit is an aluminium chair designed to be pushed by a companion — compact enough for the car, comfortable for the person sitting in it and easy on the person doing the pushing.

It folds down to just over 25 cm wide, the footrests swing out of the way without coming off, and a tipping lever helps you lift the front wheels over kerbs. Small touches, but they make every outing smoother.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

• Folds really slim — about 25.5 cm wide
Slides into a small car boot alongside the shopping, or stands neatly in a hallway or under the stairs between trips.

• Comfortable push handles and tipping lever
The shaped handles are easier on the hands of whoever is pushing, and a light press on the tipping lever lifts the front wheels over a kerb or threshold without jolting the person in the chair.

• Swing-away footrests that stay attached
Swing them aside to stand up or get settled, without taking them off — no bending down to refit them and nothing to leave behind.

• Lift-out seat for cleaning
The seat comes out so it can be cleaned properly, which keeps the chair fresh and pleasant to sit in.

• Aluminium frame, about 10.9 kg
Light enough to lift into the car with care, and sturdy enough for regular days out.

• Anti-slip footplate
Feet stay securely on the plate over bumps, so the person sitting feels steady and safe.

• Attendant brakes available
Optional handle brakes give the person pushing extra control on slopes and ramps — ask us when you order.

Worth knowing before you buy

This is a transit chair with small 14" rear wheels, so the person sitting in it can't wheel themselves — the Sparrow 2 Self Propel is the one for that. It takes users up to 100 kg, and if someone will be sitting in their wheelchair for most of the day or needs extra posture or pressure support, a more supportive chair will be kinder to them. We're happy to help you compare.
