A cosy fireside chair scaled for a smaller frame

If you're on the shorter side, big armchairs can leave your feet off the floor and your lower back unsupported, so you end up propped on cushions. The Cosi Cannington Small brings the seat down to size — about 46 cm high and deep — so you can sit right back with your feet flat and your back properly held.

It's a timeless winged armchair with scroll arms and Queen Anne style legs, made in Britain. The zipped waterfall back adjusts to support your neck, back and lumbar area, and it's ideal where space is a little tight.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

• Small size for shorter people
A lower, shallower seat means your feet rest on the floor and your knees aren't pushed up — much kinder to your hips and back.

• Adjustable waterfall back
The zipped back cushions can be altered to support your neck, middle back or lower back, so you can sit for longer without aching.

• Compact footprint
About 77.5 cm wide and 107 cm tall, so it fits neatly into smaller living rooms, flats and bedrooms.

• Strong frame, up to 25 stone (159 kg)
Birch built and solid, despite its smaller size.

• Pocket sprung seat
Comfortable, supportive cushioning that doesn't swallow you up.

• Scroll arms with extra padding
Soft to rest on and steady to push against when you stand.

• Leg finish to suit your room
Choose mahogany, natural wood or teak Queen Anne legs.

Colours available

Kilburn Cocoa and Kilburn Mink, with a choice of mahogany, natural wood or teak legs.

Who it suits best

• Shorter or petite people
• Smaller rooms where a big armchair would crowd the space
• Anyone wanting a traditional chair with adjustable back support

Worth knowing before you buy

Because it's a fixed armchair, it won't help you stand or let you recline. If getting up is a struggle, a riser recliner chair is the better choice. Taller people will find the Small too low and short in the seat — the Medium or Large Cannington would suit them. It comes with a one-year guarantee; a matching sofa and footstool can be ordered.

Questions customers ask us

Is the Small strong enough for a heavier person?
It's rated to 25 stone (159 kg), the same as the larger sizes — it's the seat size, not the strength, that's smaller.

Can I try it first?
Yes. We don't keep every size in stock, so call first and we'll check — if it isn't here, we can usually arrange a demo model.
