A permanent answer to a taller doorstep

Older houses and bungalows often have a deeper step at the front door or into a conservatory, around 12 to 13 cm. That is a real obstacle: a wheelchair can't be bumped up it safely, and a scooter simply won't climb it. Worth knowing before you buy

At this height the slope is quite steep for anyone pushing themselves in a manual wheelchair, so a carer may need to help, or a longer modular or portable ramp could be kinder. You also need about 70 cm of firm, level ground in front of the step. If your step is nearer 10 cm, the 10 cm wedge will be shorter and less steep.
