The Drive DeVilbiss Royale 4 is a full-size road scooter with a powerful 1300 W motor, suspension on every wheel and a range of around 32 miles on a charge, so you can plan a proper day out rather than a quick hop to the shops.

It feels more like sitting in a comfy chair than perching on a scooter. The captain's seat turns, slides and reclines, the headrest and armrests adjust to you, and large 16" air-filled tyres keep the ride calm on rough tarmac.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Royale 4 is a large scooter — about 158 cm long — and isn't designed to come apart, so it won't go in a car boot. You'll need a level, dry place to keep and charge it, and enough room to turn (around 160 cm). As a Class 3 scooter it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free. If you mostly ride on pavements or need something for the car, a smaller pavement or boot scooter will be easier to live with.

Questions customers ask us

Will it manage hills?
It's rated for slopes of up to 10°, and the anti-rollback system stops it rolling back if you pause on a hill.

Can I sit on one before I decide?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so please call us first and we'll check — if there isn't one here, we can usually arrange a demo model. We also offer a free home assessment.
