Rain, wind and cold are often what keep scooter riders indoors for weeks at a time. The Drive DeVilbiss Royale 4 Sport puts a hard canopy and full windscreen over your head, so a grey morning no longer has to cancel the trip to the shops, the surgery or the club.

Under the roof it's a powerful road scooter: a 1500 W motor, big 19" rear tyres and suspension on every wheel. Settle into the turning, sliding, reclining seat and you'll find it's built for comfort over distance — up to 28 miles as standard, or around 37 miles with larger batteries.

Worth knowing before you buy

With its canopy the Royale 4 Sport stands about 173 cm tall and is 169 cm long, so check your garage or store has the height and space before you choose it. It doesn't come apart and won't go in a car. The canopy protects you from rain but it isn't a fully enclosed cabin. As a Class 3 scooter it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free. If you don't need weather protection, an open road scooter is lower, lighter and easier to store.

Questions customers ask us

Which batteries should I choose?
Drive recommends the larger 100Ah batteries for the Sport because of the canopy and bigger motor — they lift the range from about 28 to about 37 miles. Ask us and we'll talk it through.

Will it fit in my garage?
Measure the door height and length first: it's about 173 cm tall with the canopy, 169 cm long and 75 cm wide.
