It's designed mainly for indoors and for places like shopping centres, where its nimble front-wheel drive makes light work of tight corners, doorways and busy aisles. The seat swivels, too, which makes getting on and off far easier.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Seren is built for indoor use and limited outdoor use on smooth, level ground. Its top speed is 4 mph and range around 12 miles, so it isn't meant for long trips on rough paths or grass. Drive doesn't publish its weight, so ask us if you need to know for storage or transport. If you need specialist postural seating or powered tilt, a rehab powerchair with configurable seating would be a better fit — we're happy to talk it through.

It's crash tested, so it can be used as a seat in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle when secured with the correct restraints.

Is the seat easy to get on and off?
Yes. It swivels to the side and the armrests flip up, which makes transfers much easier.
