A proper powerchair that comes apart for the car

Folding powerchairs are handy, but some people prefer the solid feel of a standard chair. The Drive DeVilbiss Titan LTE gives you the feel of a standard powerchair with a comfortable swivel seat — yet it splits into four pieces, and the heaviest is only about 15 kg, so it can go in a car boot.

It's compact too, at 60 cm wide with a tight 70 cm turning circle, so it's just as useful around your home as it is in a shop or garden centre.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

• Splits into four pieces, heaviest about 15 kg
Each part is manageable to lift, so you or a helper can load it into the car without heaving one heavy frame.

• Tight 70 cm turning circle
Turns neatly in small rooms, hallways and busy shop aisles.

• Compact 60 cm width
Fits through most internal doors, so you can use the same chair indoors and out.

• Swivel, height-adjustable seat
Turn the seat to get on and off more easily — gentler on stiff hips and knees.

• Carry handle on the rear base
Gives you a firm grip when lifting the base section in and out of the boot.

• Detachable, width-adjustable armrests
Set them to fit your body, or remove them for sideways transfers.

• Dynamic LiNX controller
A simple, modern joystick that's easy to use and can be set up to suit you.

• Freewheel lever
The chair can be pushed by hand when needed, for example when loading it.

Who it suits best

• You want a sturdy chair that still goes in the car
• Homes with small rooms and tight turns
• Users up to 18 stone (115 kg)

Worth knowing before you buy

The Titan LTE has a range of around 8 miles (13 km) and a top speed of 4 mph, so it suits local trips rather than long days out. You'll need to take it apart and put it back together for each car journey, so it suits people who are happy to do that or have a helper. The maximum user weight is 115 kg (18 stone). If you need a longer range or a higher weight limit, a larger standard powerchair would suit you better — we can help you choose.
