Specifications
A small scooter with a strong heart, ready for the car
Many compact car scooters are only made for lighter riders, which can leave you choosing between a scooter that fits in the boot and one that feels safe to sit on. The Freerider Ascot carries up to 21.6 stone and still breaks down into five pieces for the car, so you can take it to the shops, the coast or a family visit.
It's short and nimble, with a 270 W motor that's lively for its size and a tight turning circle for shop aisles and narrow paths. The seat folds down too, which makes it easier to tuck away at home.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Carries up to 21.6 stone (136 kg)
A higher limit than many compact boot scooters, so larger riders can feel secure on a scooter that still goes in the car.Comes apart into 5 pieces

Gives the Ascot more pull than you'd expect from a small scooter — helpful on gentle slopes and ramps.Turns in about 122 cm
Easy to steer round shop displays, café tables and tight corners without endless shuffling back and forth.Folding seat with armrests
The armrests give you something to push up from, and the seat folds down for storage and the car.Solid, puncture-proof tyres
No flat tyres and nothing to pump up — one less thing to worry about.Front and rear lights
Helps you see and be seen on darker afternoons.
Colours available

Who it suits best
- Riders up to 21.6 stone (136 kg) who need a scooter for the car
- Shopping centres, supermarkets and town pavements
- Holidays and days out where the scooter travels with you
- Smaller homes where storage space is tight
Worth knowing before you buy
The Ascot is a 4 mph pavement scooter with no suspension and small solid wheels, so it's best on smooth, level surfaces — you'll feel bumps on rough paving, and the 3.6 cm ground clearance means high kerbs should be avoided. It weighs about 51.6 kg in total, so someone still needs to lift the pieces into the car. Freerider doesn't publish a range figure for its 12Ah batteries; it's designed for shorter trips. For longer outings or rougher ground, a larger pavement scooter will suit you better.
Questions customers ask us
Will it fit in my car?
Freerider says it fits into most cars once it's in pieces. It's about 104.5 cm long and 55.6 cm wide when assembled — bring your boot measurements and we'll help you check.
Can I see it come apart before I buy?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so please give us a call first and we'll check — if it isn't in the showroom, we can usually arrange a demo model. You can also book a free home assessment.
