A big road scooter can feel like too much machine for narrow streets, busy precincts and a small front garden. The Freerider FR1 City is the compact member of the FR1 family: 126 cm long, nippy to steer, yet still able to travel on the road at up to 8 mph.

It's designed to make daily trips easy. Suspension front and back, 12" wheels and a padded captain's seat keep you comfortable, while a bright halo running light and full indicators help others spot you. Flick the switch to 4 mph for the pavement and you can go from road to shop door without a second thought.

Worth knowing before you buy

The FR1 City weighs about 103.6 kg and doesn't come apart, so it won't go in a car. Its ground clearance is 7.5 cm, which is fine for dropped kerbs but not for high ones or rough tracks. If you need more range or carry more weight, a larger road scooter will suit you better. As a Class 3 scooter it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free.

Questions customers ask us

Air or solid tyres?
The FR1 City comes with either. Air tyres give a softer ride; solid tyres can't puncture. Tell us which you prefer when you order.

How far will it go?
It runs on two 50Ah batteries, typically around 20 to 25 miles depending on hills, weather and rider weight.

Can I try one?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so call us first and we'll check — if it isn't here, we can usually arrange a demo model, or book a free home assessment.
