Getting round a crowded shop or a narrow path on a big scooter can mean a lot of awkward reversing. The Freerider Knightsbridge is a three-wheel scooter with the tightest turning circle in Freerider's road range — just 94 cm — so you can glide round displays, doorways and corners with ease.

It's road legal at up to 6 mph, yet shorter and lighter than four-wheel road scooters, at 113 cm long. Suspension front and rear, air-filled tyres and a captain's seat with flip-up armrests make it comfortable for shopping trips and short journeys around town.

Worth knowing before you buy

Three-wheel scooters are nimble, but they don't feel as stable as four-wheelers on steep slopes, cambers or rough ground — if balance is a worry, a four-wheel scooter is the safer choice. The Knightsbridge is rated for slopes up to 6°, and it doesn't come apart for a car. Its top speed is 6 mph rather than 8 mph. As a Class 3 scooter it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free.

Two 35Ah batteries as standard, with a 50Ah option if you'd like more range.
