A friendly step up to the road, with a modern look

If a 4 mph pavement scooter feels a little slow but a big 8 mph machine feels like too much, the Freerider Mayfair 6 Evolution sits nicely in between. It's a road-legal scooter with a top speed of 6 mph, so you can use the road when you need to, while keeping a size that feels manageable.

The Evolution styling brings a bright LED halo light at the front, and the familiar Mayfair comforts — a captain's seat, easy delta handlebars and suspension — keep everyday outings relaxed. It's a sensible choice for regular trips to the shops, the library or friends nearby.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

• Road legal at up to 6 mph
A little quicker than a pavement scooter, and you're allowed on the road when the pavement is blocked or there isn't one.

• LED halo running light
A bright ring of light at the front helps drivers and pedestrians see you in all weathers.

• Manageable size at about 89 kg
Lighter than full-size road scooters, so it's easier to handle and store.

• Easy-steer delta handlebars
Hold with your whole hand rather than gripping — kinder if you have arthritis in your fingers or wrists.

• Captain's seat
Comfortable, supportive seating for regular trips out.

• Suspension
Takes the edge off bumps and uneven paving for a smoother ride.

• Tough floor mats and bumpers
Built to cope with everyday knocks, so it keeps looking smart.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Mayfair 6 Evolution tops out at 6 mph, so if you want to keep up with longer road journeys, an 8 mph scooter will get you there quicker. It's rated for slopes up to 6°, so very steep hills are best avoided, and it doesn't come apart for a car. As a Class 3 scooter it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free.
