A captain's seat, suspension at both ends and a length of about 135 cm make it relaxing to ride and manageable to park — a sensible step up from a pavement scooter.

Worth knowing before you buy

At about 102.6 kg the Mayfair 8 Deluxe doesn't fold or come apart, so if your scooter needs to go in a car boot, a folding or boot scooter is the better choice. It handles slopes of up to 8°, so very steep hills can be hard work. It comes with 35Ah batteries as standard; a bigger 50Ah battery is offered for longer trips — ask us about it. As a Class 3 scooter it needs free DVLA registration.

Can I ride it on the pavement?
Yes. You switch to 4 mph for pavements and use up to 8 mph on the road.

Which tyres should I choose?
If comfort on rougher surfaces matters most, air tyres feel softer. If you never want to deal with a puncture, go for solid. We're happy to talk it through.
