Some people need a chair they can push themselves; others need one a partner can push to the shops. Many need a bit of both. The Invacare Action 3 NG is a folding wheelchair that can be built as a self-propelling chair, an attendant-pushed transit chair, or a more padded comfort version.

Because almost everything adjusts, we can fit it to your body and your home. That makes it a sensible choice if you're getting your first wheelchair, or replacing one that never quite fitted.

  The self-propelling chair weighs 13.0 kg, and its heaviest part is just 7.1 kg once the wheels are off, which makes loading the car manageable.

• Folds flat for the car
  It folds to under 30 cm wide, so it fits most boots and tucks away at home.

  Six widths, three depths and a seat angle of 0°, 3° or 6° help you sit upright and stable, which is kinder on your back and hips over a long day.

  Height and angle can be changed, including recline options, to give more support if you tire easily.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Action 3 NG is a practical everyday chair, not a sports chair, so it's heavier and less nimble than a rigid active wheelchair. It isn't suitable above 125 kg, and if you need tilt-in-space for posture or pressure care, a tilt-in-space wheelchair is the better route. We'll help you weigh it up.

Questions customers ask us

Can I push it myself and have someone push me?
Most people who do both choose the self-propel version. If you'll always be pushed, the transit version, with its smaller rear wheels, is the one to look at, and we can talk you through both.

Can I try one?
Yes. We don't keep every version in stock, so give us a call first — we'll check what we have, and if it isn't here we can usually arrange a demo chair.
