Steady, comfortable and simple to live with day to day

If you want a scooter for the shops, the library or a trip round the park — one that feels safe and doesn't take up the whole garage — the Invacare Leo is a sensible, reliable choice. It's a Class 2 pavement scooter, so it travels at up to 4 mph on pavements and in pedestrian areas, and it's one of Invacare's most popular models.

Suspension front and back and 11-inch air-filled tyres give a comfortable ride, and the swivel seat makes getting on and off easy. When you need to take it further afield, it comes apart into five pieces without any tools, so it can travel with you in a suitable car.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

  • Comfortable ride with suspension and 11-inch air tyres
Smooths out cracked paving and dropped kerbs, so your back, hips and knees take far fewer knocks.

  • Swivel seat on sliding rails
Turn the seat towards you to sit down and stand up without twisting, then slide it to the position that suits your legs.

  • Comes apart into five pieces, no tools needed
Handy for storing in a smaller space or taking in a car — though some pieces are still weighty, so a helper is useful.

  • Up to 23 miles on a charge
A good distance for a pavement scooter, so a busy day of errands won't leave you anxious about the battery.

  • Indicators that switch themselves off
One less thing to remember, and a rear brake light warns people behind when you slow down.

  • Adjustable tiller
Set the steering column to a comfortable reach, which helps if you have stiff shoulders or shorter arms.

  • Two-step freewheel lever
Stops the scooter being knocked into freewheel by accident, so it stays put when parked.

  • Splash guards and a clear battery display
Electronics are protected from puddles and rain, and a beep tells you when it's time to recharge.

Colours available

Ruby Red, Onyx Blue or Moonstone Silver.

Who it suits best

  • Everyday local trips on pavements and in town
  • Riders up to 21 stone (136 kg)
  • Anyone who wants the option of taking their scooter apart for storage or travel
  • Those who value a smooth, comfortable ride over the smallest possible size

Worth knowing before you buy

The Leo weighs 83 kg with its batteries, so although it comes apart, it isn't a lightweight boot scooter — if you'll be lifting it into a car often, a folding or boot scooter will be much easier. It needs around 2.6 metres to turn fully, so it's less nimble in tight shops than a smaller scooter. As a pavement scooter it can't be used on the road at higher speeds; for that, a Class 3 scooter is the better choice. Batteries are charged off the scooter, so you'll need to lift them out to charge.

Questions customers ask us

Can I use it on the road?
Only to cross or where there's no pavement. It's a Class 2 scooter, so no DVLA registration or licence is needed.

Is it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, the Leo is available through the Motability Scheme — we can talk you through it.

Can I try one?
Yes. Ring us first so we can check it's in stock; if it isn't, we can usually arrange a demo model, in the showroom or at home.
