Easier outings for you and whoever is pushing

When someone else does the pushing, you both need a chair that's comfortable, steady and simple to handle. The Karma Agile Transit is a folding attendant-propelled wheelchair — meaning it's designed to be pushed by a carer — with smaller rear wheels that keep it compact in the car and easy to steer through doorways.

It can be adjusted to fit the person sitting in it, the arms flip back for easier transfers, and it's crash tested for use as a seat in a suitable vehicle. Days out, hospital visits and trips to see family become far less of a struggle.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

  • Compact transit design
Smaller rear wheels make the chair shorter and narrower to handle, so carers find it easier to manage in shops, lifts and tight hallways.

  • Crash tested for vehicle travel
Approved to ISO 7176-19, so the person using it can stay seated in the chair in a suitably adapted vehicle or accessible taxi.

  • Flip-back armrests
The arms move out of the way for sideways transfers onto a bed, chair or car seat, which means less lifting for the carer.

  • Folds for the car boot
The frame folds to around 28 cm wide, and a folding backrest is available, so it packs away without fuss.

  • Removable footrests
Lift them off for standing transfers or to get closer to the table; elevating leg rests are an option if legs need raising.

  • Adjustable to fit
Built on a multi-adjustable frame, so it can be set up properly for the person using it rather than one size fits all.

  • Up to 125 kg user weight
Rated for users up to 125 kg (19.7 st).

Colours available

Black.

Who it suits best

  • People who are pushed by a family member or carer
  • Occasional use for outings, appointments and holidays
  • Anyone who travels seated in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle

Worth knowing before you buy

Because the rear wheels are small, the Agile Transit can't be pushed by the person sitting in it. If you'd like to propel yourself some of the time, look at the Agile Self-Propel instead. It weighs from around 12.7 kg, so if the carer struggles with lifting, an ultra-lightweight transit chair may be kinder.

Questions customers ask us

Can I push myself in it?
No. It's designed to be pushed by someone else. The self-propel version has large rear wheels you can push yourself.

Can it go in a wheelchair taxi?
Yes. It's crash tested to ISO 7176-19 for use as a seat in a suitably equipped vehicle.

Can we try one before buying?
We don't keep every wheelchair in stock, so ring us first and we'll check. If it's not in the showroom, we can usually arrange a demo model.

More questions about everyday wheelchairs

What's the difference between a self-propelled and a transit wheelchair?

A self-propelled wheelchair has large back wheels with hand rims so you can push yourself. A transit (attendant) wheelchair has smaller wheels, is lighter and more compact, and is pushed by a helper.

Will it fold for the car?

Most of our everyday wheelchairs fold. Check the weight and folded size on the product page so you know it's manageable for whoever will be lifting it.

What seat width do I need?

The seat should be a little wider than your hips so you're comfortable without sliding about. If you're unsure, call 01789 339 738 and we'll help you measure, or book a free home assessment.

How much does a wheelchair cost?

Everyday wheelchairs are among the most affordable mobility products, and every price is on the product page. If you have a long-term condition, you may be able to buy it VAT-free.

When should I look at an active wheelchair instead?

If you'll be in the chair most of the day and pushing yourself, a lighter active wheelchair set up to fit you will be far easier on your arms and shoulders.
