• Large self-propel rear wheels with handrims
  Choose 20" or 22" rear wheels so you can push yourself along comfortably, giving you independence indoors and out without relying on someone else.

• Light aluminium frame that folds
  At around 12 kg it is manageable to fold and lift, and on the 22" version the quick-release wheels come off so the heaviest part is about 8.5 kg — kinder on your helper's back.

• Swing-away footrests that stay attached
  Swing them to the side to stand up or transfer, without taking them off — so there's nothing to lose and nothing to bend down and refit.

• Removable seat for easy cleaning
  The seat lifts out so it can be wiped down or washed, keeping the chair fresh and hygienic with everyday use.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Sparrow 2 is a good-value everyday folding chair, but it isn't set up to measure. The maximum user weight is 100 kg, and if you'll be wheeling yourself for most of the day, a lighter active wheelchair adjusted to your body will be easier on your shoulders. If you'll mostly be pushed by someone else, the transit version is smaller and lighter.

Questions customers ask us

Will it go in my car?
Usually, yes. Folded, it's about 78 cm long, 28–30 cm wide and 76 cm high, which fits most hatchback and estate boots.

Do the footrests come off?
They swing out to the side for transfers and stay attached, so you never have to find and refit them.

Can I try it before I buy?
