A sleek, open-frame rigid chair that moves the moment you do

When you push yourself all day, a responsive chair isn't a luxury — it's what lets you keep up with work, family and everything you enjoy without wearing out your shoulders. The Küschall K-Series 2.0 is a rigid active wheelchair with a clean, open frame, built to your measurements so it fits like it was made for you, because it was.

A full hydroformed aluminium front frame keeps it stiff and efficient, and a backrest that folds down and locks makes it straightforward to load into the car once the wheels are off.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

  • Rigid frame for efficient pushing
More of your effort goes into moving forward, so you travel further with less strain on your shoulders and wrists over a busy day.

  • Built to your size
Ten seat widths from 32 to 50 cm and eight depths from 35 to 52.5 cm, so you sit snugly with good posture and control.

  • Adjustable seat height and balance
Front and rear seat heights and five seat positions let us set the chair for stability or for lively, nimble handling — and change it as your skills develop.

  • Lockdown folding backrest
Folds flat for the car and locks securely when you're sitting, with five angles from 78° to 94° to suit your posture.

  • Crash tested to ISO 7176-19
Approved for use as a seat in a suitably adapted vehicle, so travelling by accessible taxi or minibus is simpler.

  • 24" quick-release wheels with air tyres
Pneumatic tyres give a smoother, more comfortable ride over rough ground, and the wheels pop off for transport. Larger 25" and 26" wheels are available.

  • Camber options up to 10°
Angled wheels add side-to-side stability and quicker turning; the Vario-Ax axle lets you choose 1°, 3°, 7° or 10°.

  • Carbon clothes guards and reflective trim
Keeps clothing clear of the wheels, and the reflective upholstery trim helps you be seen at dusk.

Colours available

Standard: Space Black, Anthracite Grey, Pure White, Carmine Red and Azure Blue (plus Carbon Finish on the carbon frame). Extra colours (longer delivery): Flashy Yellow, Black Glossy, Silver Grey, Pearl Night Blue, Ruby Red, Dynamite Orange and Forest Green. Unique finishes and custom RAL colours are also available.

Who it suits best

  • Experienced, full-time wheelchair users who push themselves
  • You want a responsive, minimalist rigid chair
  • You travel seated in an adapted vehicle
  • Users up to 130 kg (20.5 stone)

Worth knowing before you buy

As a rigid chair, the K-Series doesn't fold side to side — you remove the wheels and fold the backrest instead. It comes without push handles as standard, as it's designed for people who propel themselves with good trunk balance. If someone will often push you, or you need the chair to fold small, a folding active chair would be a better fit. It's built to order, so we'll measure you first.

Questions customers ask us

Is there a carbon version?
Yes. The K-Series 2.0 comes with an aluminium or carbon frame — ask us about the differences in weight and price.

Can I try one first?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so give us a call first and we'll check — if it isn't in, we can usually arrange a demo model. You can also book a free home assessment.

More questions about active wheelchairs

What is an active wheelchair?

It's a lightweight manual wheelchair set up around your body so it takes less effort to push yourself. It suits people who self-propel every day and want a chair that feels like part of them.

Should I choose a rigid or a folding frame?

A rigid frame is usually lighter and more efficient to push because less energy is lost through the frame. A folding frame folds down, which some people find easier for storage and travel.

How much does an active wheelchair cost?

It depends on the frame material, such as aluminium, titanium or carbon, and the options you choose. Prices are on each product page. If you have a long-term condition, you may be able to buy it VAT-free.

How do I get the right size?

Getting the measurements right makes a big difference to comfort and how easily the chair pushes. Book a free home assessment on 01789 339 738 and we'll measure you and set the chair up for you.

Can I add power to my active wheelchair later?

Often, yes. A power add-on such as a push-assist or front attachment can give you extra help on hills and longer trips while you keep your own chair.

Still got a question? Call us on 01789 339 738 and we'll be happy to help.
