Specifications
A boot scooter with no piece heavier than 10 kg
For a lot of people, the hardest part of using a car scooter is lifting it in and out. The Motion Healthcare Alumina Air tackles that head on. It's built on an aluminium chassis and comes apart without tools, and its heaviest piece weighs just 9.9 kg — about the same as a full shopping bag or two.
It's the lighter-battery member of the Alumina family, giving up to 10 miles per charge. That's plenty for a supermarket shop, a town centre, a garden centre or a day out. Full suspension and super-soft tyres keep the ride gentle, so you can enjoy the outing rather than feel every bump.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Heaviest part only 9.9 kg
Every piece is light enough for many people to lift into a car boot alone — a big help if you or your carer have back, shoulder or wrist problems.Full suspension with super-soft tyres
Smooths out uneven paths and kerbs, which is easier on sore joints and a stiff back.Takes apart with a quick-release T-bar
No tools and no fiddly fixings, so packing up at the end of the day is quick even if your hands tire easily.Airline-friendly lithium battery
The 252Wh battery is light at 2.2 kg and is the kind usually accepted for air travel. Check with your airline before you fly.Charging socket on the tiller
Plug in at handlebar height rather than bending down low — kinder on your knees and back.Front LED light
Helps you see and be seen on dull days or late afternoons in winter.Dual controls and soft hand grips
Drive with either hand, and the cushioned grips are comfortable if you have arthritis in your fingers.
Colours available
Charcoal or Burnt Orange.
Who it suits best
- Anyone who needs every piece to be as light as possible
- Car owners who want a scooter that lives in the boot
- Shopping trips, days out and holidays on mostly smooth ground
- Riders up to 21 stone (133 kg)
Worth knowing before you buy
The Air version has the smallest battery in the Alumina family, so the range is up to 10 miles. Ground clearance is 5 cm and the climbing limit is 6°, so it's at home on pavements and in shops rather than on steep hills, grass or gravel. If you'd like more miles between charges, look at a higher-capacity battery version; for rough ground, a larger pavement scooter with bigger wheels is the better choice.
Questions customers ask us

How far will it go?
Up to 10 miles on a full charge. Hills, cold weather and rider weight all make a difference.
Can I try it first?
