Specifications
Road speed when you want it, car-boot size when you need it
Usually you have to choose: a road scooter that's quick and goes a long way, or a small one you can take in the car. The Motion Healthcare Xcelerate tries to give you both. It's a Class 3 scooter — meaning it can do 8 mph and be used on the road as well as the pavement — yet it comes apart into sections, the heaviest just 19.9 kg.
A large 60Ah lithium battery gives up to 25 miles, and it can be charged on the scooter or lifted out and charged indoors. Carry handles are built into the body, so taking it apart and loading it is more manageable for you or whoever helps.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
8 mph road scooter that comes apart
Ride on the road at the end of your street, then pack it in the car for a day out further afield — one scooter for both.Heaviest piece only 19.9 kg
The lightest heaviest part in Motion's road-going range, which makes a real difference if a partner or family member does the lifting.Up to 25 miles from a lithium battery
Enough for a long day out without watching the battery gauge.Charge on or off the scooter
If you can't park near a socket, lift the battery out and charge it in the kitchen.Built-in carry handles
Handles in the rear cover and tiller base give you a firm grip, so lifting feels safer for sore hands and backs.All-round suspension and 10.2" wheels
Softens bumps on longer runs, which is easier on your back and hips.700 W motor
Gives steady pulling power for road riding and gentle slopes up to 8°.
Colours available
Champagne or Marine Blue.
Who it suits best
- People who want road speed but also need to put the scooter in a car
- Longer trips into town or visiting family
- Households where someone else helps with lifting
- Riders up to 23.6 stone (150 kg)
Worth knowing before you buy
To keep it light enough to lift, the Xcelerate sits low: ground clearance is 3.5 cm, which is much lower than most road scooters. High kerbs, deep potholes and rough tracks can catch the underside, so it suits smooth roads and dropped kerbs best. Because it's Class 3 it must be registered with the DVLA (free). If you mostly ride over rough ground, a larger road scooter with more clearance will suit you better.
Questions customers ask us
Can I really take a road scooter in my car?
Yes — it comes apart into sections, the heaviest 19.9 kg. Your boot needs to be big enough for the pieces, so ask us to check.
Can I use it on the road?
Yes. It's a Class 3 scooter, so it can go at 8 mph on the road and must be switched down to 4 mph on pavements. It needs registering with the DVLA.
Can I try one?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so give us a call first and we'll check — if it isn't in the showroom, we can usually arrange a demo model for you.
