Specifications
One chair, three drive types, set up for complex everyday needs
If you spend most of your day in your chair, small things matter: how you sit, how easily you can shift your weight, and whether the chair handles your home and your favourite places outdoors. The Ottobock Juvo B5/B6 is a modular electric wheelchair, also known as a powerchair, that can be built with front-wheel, mid-wheel or rear-wheel drive to match how and where you live.
Seating, controls and battery size are all chosen around you, with powered tilt available to help with comfort and pressure care. It is the kind of chair we specify after a proper assessment, so the finished chair suits your body and your routine rather than the other way round.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Front, mid or rear-wheel drive
Front-wheel drive is good for kerbs and uneven ground, mid-wheel drive turns in the tightest spaces indoors, and rear-wheel drive feels stable at speed outside. You choose the one that suits your home and lifestyle.45 degree powered tilt
Tilting the whole seat back shifts your weight off your bottom and thighs, which helps protect your skin and lets you rest during a long day, especially if you cannot easily reposition yourself.Highly adjustable seating
Seat width from 34 to 56 cm and depth from 34 to 50 cm, with contoured backs and cushions available, so you sit well supported and with less strain on your back and shoulders.Torsion drive system
Keeps the wheels in contact with the ground and dampens bumps, giving a steadier, more comfortable ride on rough pavements.Handles obstacles up to 10 cm
With front-wheel drive it can climb obstacles up to 100 mm, so dropped kerbs and door thresholds are less of a worry.Controls to suit your hands
Standard joystick, handheld colour control, attendant control for a carer, or chin and lip joysticks for those with limited hand movement. Two battery sizes
Choose 53 Ah (B5) or 63 Ah (B6) batteries, with a range of up to 35 km (22 miles).Removable LED lights
Magnetic lights help you be seen outdoors and lift off to use as a torch.
Who it suits best
- People with complex postural or pressure care needs
- Full-time electric wheelchair users, indoors and out
- Anyone who needs a particular drive type for their home or terrain
- Users up to 25 stone (160 kg) with the larger chassis
Worth knowing before you buy
The Juvo B5/B6 is built to order from many options, so the price shown is a starting point and the final cost depends on the drive type, seating and controls. It weighs from 107 kg and is 60 or 64 cm wide, so it needs a wheelchair-accessible vehicle and reasonable door widths at home. If you mainly need a chair for short trips and want to fold it into a car, a portable electric wheelchair will be far easier to live with.
