The gentlest slope in the Permaramp Original range

If every bit of gradient matters — because your arms tire quickly, because a partner pushes your wheelchair, or because steep slopes simply make you anxious — length is your friend. At 2.4 metres, the Enable Access Permaramp Original 240cm is the longest in its range, so it spreads the climb to your wooden door sill out as far as possible.

It's fixed top and bottom for a solid, dependable feel, and carries up to 300 kg (47 st). Like the rest of the range, it's relocatable rather than built in.

✅ Key Features & Benefits

• Longest Original at 240cm
For the same step height, a longer ramp means a shallower climb, which is easier on shoulders, wrists and the person behind the handles.

• Calmer on the way down
A gentler slope is easier to control going out of the house as well as coming in, which can ease worries about rolling too fast.

• Carries up to 300 kg (47 st)
Enough for many wheelchairs and scooters with their user; just add the two weights together to check before you buy.

• Sits on a wooden door sill
Enable Access recommend the Original for wooden thresholds, so the top edge has a firm place to rest.

• Fixings at both ends
Holds the ramp firmly where it belongs over its full length, so it feels steady from the first metre to the last.

• Gripdeck™ surface and contrasting edges
Grip built for life outdoors, plus coloured edge strips that make the sides easy to see on a grey afternoon.

Who it suits best

• People who need the gentlest possible slope to a wooden door sill
• Carers pushing a manual wheelchair in and out each day
• Homes with plenty of level space in front of the door

Worth knowing before you buy

This length has the lowest load rating in the Original range: 300 kg (47 st). If you use a heavy electric wheelchair or a large scooter, check the combined weight with us first — a shorter Original is rated at 400 kg. At 25 kg and 2.4 metres long, it needs a good stretch of level ground and isn't one to move often. There are no handrails, and for uPVC sills the self-supporting Permaramp Adjust is the better type.

Questions customers ask us

Will I have room for a 2.4 metre ramp?
Measure straight out from your door to make sure there's 2.4 metres of firm, level ground with space to turn at the bottom. We can check this on a free home assessment.

Can I see how long it is before I order?
We don't keep every length in stock, so give us a call first and we'll check. If it isn't here, we can usually arrange a demo.
