The Quantum Edge 3 is a mid-wheel drive electric wheelchair, also known as a powerchair, with a short 81.9 cm base and a 52 cm turning radius, so it moves easily around a normal home.

Quantum's upgraded Smooth Ride Suspension keeps the ride calm over bumps, and the seating can be built around you, with powered tilt, recline, legrests and the optional iLevel seat lift that raises you up to 30 cm while you keep driving. It also comes in 14 colours, so it can look the way you want.

Worth knowing before you buy

The Edge 3 is a specialist chair, so the final price depends on the seating, motors and powered options chosen, and an assessment is the best first step. It does not fold for a car boot, so you will need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle to travel with it. Mid-wheel drive chairs are superb indoors, but if most of your driving is over grass, gravel or steep kerbs, a front-wheel drive chair may suit you better.
