Your first step into a rigid chair, without the big price tag
Maybe you've been pushing a folding wheelchair for a while and you're tired of the frame flexing and the effort it takes to get anywhere. A rigid chair can feel like a different world, but the top models cost a lot. The Rehasense Icon 60 Boxed gives you that solid, responsive ride at a more approachable price.
It uses Rehasense's boxed rigid aluminium frame with a fixed front, so more of every push carries you forward. The rear wheels come off quickly for the car, and the seat and back can be adjusted as you get used to how a rigid chair handles.
✅ Key Features & Benefits
Rigid boxed aluminium frame
No folding cross-brace to flex, so pushing takes less effort, which is easier on tired shoulders and wrists.A more affordable way into rigid
The boxed version of the Icon 60 is our entry point to rigid active chairs, ideal if you're moving across from a folding wheelchair.Quick-release rear wheels
Pop the wheels off to make the chair smaller and lighter to lift into a car boot.Click & Safe safety catch
Rehasense's own patented catch, designed to give you extra confidence that parts are locked securely in place.Adjustable seat and back height
Set the chair to suit your body and how you push, then fine-tune it as your confidence grows.Tension-adjustable back upholstery
The back can be tightened or eased in sections to follow the shape of your spine, which helps you sit comfortably for longer.Anti-tip wheels included
A reassuring safety net while you're learning how far you can lean back in a rigid chair.Angle-adjustable footrest
Position your feet comfortably, which helps if your knees or ankles are stiff.
Who it suits best
- Folding wheelchair users ready to try a rigid frame
- First-time active wheelchair users who self-propel every day
- Anyone wanting a no-fuss chair on a sensible budget
Worth knowing before you buy
A rigid frame doesn't fold in the middle — the wheels come off and the chair goes in the car in pieces, so think about how you'll lift it. If you need a chair that folds flat, a folding active wheelchair is the better fit. And if you want every measurement tailored, the fully configurable Icon 60 offers more choice.
Questions customers ask us
What is the difference between this and the standard Icon 60?
The Boxed version is a simpler, lower-priced set-up of the same rigid chair. The standard Icon 60 is fully configurable, with more adjustment and options.
Can I try one first?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so give us a call first and we'll check — if it isn't here, we can usually arrange a demo model. We can also come to you for a home assessment.
