Most people simply want an everyday wheelchair that fits well, pushes easily and lifts into the car. The Ki Mobility Catalyst 5Vx is the straightforward member of the Catalyst family — a folding aluminium chair built to your measurements.

It lifts at around 6.3 kg with the wheels off and carries up to 21 stone (136 kg). Camber — the slight inward lean of the rear wheels that makes a chair steadier — can be set from 0° to 4°.

Worth knowing before you buy

It's made to measure, so we'll assess you first and it takes time to build. The price shown is for the standard set-up; options such as a solid seat pan are quoted separately. A heavy-duty version takes up to 159 kg (25 st). For a titanium frame, look at the Catalyst 5. If you never need to fold, a rigid active chair pushes more efficiently.

Can it be used as a seat in a vehicle?
Ki offers a transit system for the Catalyst 5Vx, so it can be ordered for travelling seated in a suitably adapted vehicle.

Can I try one before I buy?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so please give us a call first and we'll check whether there's one in the showroom — if not, we can usually arrange a demo model for you. You can also book a free home assessment.
