It tops out at 6 mph, which many people find a relaxed, confident pace, and it's road legal for the times the pavement runs out. With suspension front and back and a high-back seat, short trips stay pleasant rather than bumpy, and it carries riders up to 28 stone (181 kg).

Worth knowing before you buy

The Colt Deluxe 2.0 is made for pavements, roads and park paths rather than grass or rough tracks — it sits fairly low to the ground, so a scooter with bigger wheels and more clearance suits country lanes better. It does come apart, but the heaviest piece is around 30 kg, so if you want to lift a scooter into your car regularly, a lighter boot scooter will be easier. As a Class 3 scooter it needs registering with the DVLA, which is free.

Questions customers ask us

Should I choose air-filled or solid tyres?
Air-filled tyres give a softer ride. Solid tyres can't puncture and need no pumping up — they're available on the Grey model.

Can it go on the road if it only does 6 mph?
Yes. It's a Class 3 scooter, so it's road legal, and on the pavement you keep to 4 mph.
