The Pride Jazzy Carbon Ultra Lite is a folding electric wheelchair, also known as a powerchair, built around a carbon fibre frame. It weighs 14.5 kg without its battery and folds in one movement, so it slips into a car boot or the cupboard under the stairs.

It's made for shorter outings on flat ground — the shops, a garden centre or an airport terminal. The lithium battery is suitable for air travel, and a USB socket keeps your phone charged.

Worth knowing before you buy

This is a lightweight travel chair. With a top speed of 4 mph, solid tyres and a rigid carbon frame, it's at its best indoors and on flat, even pavements, and it isn't suited to grass, gravel or steep slopes. The mesh seat is made for lightness, not all-day postural support, so if you sit for most of the day a standard or rehab electric wheelchair will be more comfortable.

Can I take it on a plane?
Pride says the lithium batteries are suitable for air travel. Airlines have their own rules, so check with yours before you fly.

How far will it go on a charge?
Up to 20 km (12.4 miles), and Pride quotes up to 18 miles with the larger 20Ah battery. Your weight and the ground make a difference.

Can I see it fold before I buy?
Yes. We don't keep every model in stock, so give us a call first and we'll check it's in the showroom — and if it isn't, we can usually arrange a demo model for you. You can also book a free home assessment.
