The Orwell is a static chair, so it doesn't recline or lift you to standing. If you're finding it hard to get up even from a higher seat, or you'd like to put your legs up without a footstool, a riser recliner chair will help more. The weight limit is 18 stone (114 kg); if you need more, ask us about heavier-duty seating. The guarantee is one year.

Is the seat high enough to help me stand?
The seat is about 49.5 cm high, which is higher than most sofas, and the firm wooden arms give you leverage. If you need more help than that, a riser recliner is the better option.

Can I get a footstool to match?
Yes, a matching footstool is available to order, as is a matching sofa.

Can I sit in it before I buy?
Yes. We don't keep every chair in stock, so please call first and we'll check — if the Orwell isn't in the showroom, we can usually arrange a demo model for you.
