What affects the price?
- Motors: more motors give more positions and cost more. A triple motor chair, with separate legs, back and tilt, is one of the most expensive.
- User weight: bariatric chairs for heavier users cost more, because the frame and mechanism are stronger.
- Size: made-to-measure chairs cost more but fit you exactly.
- Back style: lateral-support backs give extra side support.
- Fabric: leather, faux leather and wipe-clean fabrics can add to the price.
- Extras: heat, massage, arm caps, reading lights and pressure-relief cushions. Some Rise & Recline chairs can also have a "tech pack" in the arm for a swivel table with a wireless phone charger, a cup holder and other add-ons.
Some extras cost nothing. On Rise & Recline chairs, a softer pocket sprung seat is the same price as the standard foam seat, and any fabric in their range comes at no extra wait. The quad motor chair includes USB and USB-C sockets as standard.
Can I avoid paying VAT?
If you have a long-term illness or disability, you may be able to buy without VAT. You sign a simple form when you buy. Ask us if you're not sure.
Delivery and set-up
Most standard chairs take about 3 weeks. Rise & Recline made-to-measure chairs are built to order in Nottingham, usually within 15 to 20 working days. Read how they make them. We deliver your chair, set it up and show you how the handset works, and we can take away your old chair.
Why a cheaper chair can cost more
A chair that's the wrong size or isn't rated for your weight won't last. Mike's first two riser chairs, bought before Tracy worked here, both failed. The one we fitted properly for him lasted more than 10 years. Rise & Recline give a five-year warranty on the frame and mechanism.
